French Cooking Class

Date: Saturday 12 August

Time: from 8.30am until 2pm.

Venue: Wilby’s Training Restaurant, Canning Street, Rockhampton.

Costs: $100pp for cooking class + lunch

$45pp if attending the lunch only.

This hands-on cooking class conducted by a Chef and his French assistants will take you through the preparation of a meal over several hours. You will be able to cook at the same time as the chef for a better learning and understanding.

At the end of the class, participants and their guests will enjoy the meal they have prepared.

Note: the cooking class is now fully booked - contact us if you wish to be added to the reserve list if anyone cancels their attendance at the last minute. There are still tickets for the lunch only.

Menu - participants to prepare:


Terrine de pamplemousse, crevettes et mousse d'avocat (Terrine with grapefruit and prawns on avocado mousse)

Bouchées à la Reine (Vols-au-vent)


Blanquette de veau (Veal stew)

Tourte épinards champignons (Spinach and mushroom pie)

Gratin dauphinois (Potato bake)

Légumes verts (Green vegetables)


Crème brûlée

Paris-Brest (Choux pastry filled with praline cream)

-Plateau fromages: Comté, Bleu d'Auvergne, Munster (or similar), Etorki (or similar), Camembert, Chèvre.



Complimentary glass of champagne before lunch

A glass of white or red wine during lunch

No prior knowledge nor equipment required for the cooking class.

Max 28 participants for the cooking class, max 12 additional guests for the lunch only.

Minimum 10 participants required for the cooking class to go ahead.
