Here is an overview of the main events you can look forward to in 2026!

More details will be published as they are confirmed.

Rockhampton & Yeppoon Coffee Chats

Our French conversation groups start up again on Saturday 24 January. Whether you’re a Francophone and want to speak French or someone who is learning French and needs the practice…. We welcome you!

We offer a friendly, easygoing space to chat, practise, and enjoy French at your own pace.

French language lovers and students of AF meet on alternate Saturdays in:

Rockhampton at Riverston Tea Rooms (Quay Street) between 1.00pm to 3.00pm

Yeppoon (Rosslyn Bay) at The Waterline from 1:30pm to 3:00pm

Conversation groups are free other than the cost of purchasing a drink or some food. Interested?

- 10 am for beginners

- 11 am for confident or native speakers

Please let us know if you’re coming by Friday 6/03/26 so we can confirm our numbers with the venue.

La Chandeleur 31 Jan.

Crêpes, culture, and a dash of French fun — La Chandeleur is coming to Alliance Française on 31 January, and you’re invited* to flip, taste, and celebrate with us. Instead of our usual Yeppoon Conversation Group, we’re gathering for a fun and delicious Chandeleur celebration.

Join us at 1.30pm for a sweet start to the year — à vos crêpes and see you there!

*This event is held at a private residence and is for members only. Invitations will be emailed.

French Film Festival

29 to 31 May

Our team is deep in preparation mode, putting the final touches on the film selection and shaping an event that celebrates the best of French cinema. More details will be shared very soon as everything comes together. Stay tuned ! Something special is on the way.

French Singing Workshop - 21 June

Warm up your vocal cords! Our June workshop will be a joyful dive into French songs, perfect for all levels. The team is currently finalising the venue and curating a vibrant selection of tunes. And yes, French pronunciation support is absolutely part of the fun!

14 Juillet  Bastille Day

On Sunday 12 July, we will gather on the coast for a relaxed day of French cultural connection. The event offers a chance to socialise with fellow Francophiles. Whether you’re a regular or just curious, it’s a gentle way to mark the season and enjoy a touch of French spirit by the sea.

Le Bon Weekend 17-18 October

Le Bon Week‑end returns this October at The Haven near Emu Park, offering a relaxed mix of French language and cultural activities. It’s a gentle way to deepen your knowledge of anything French—from everyday expressions to food and wine—while enjoying a peaceful coastal setting.
