Want to find out more? Please register your interest for the 2026 French Classes. We will be in touch.
Classes have started in Rockhampton and Yeppoon.
We are still taking Expression of Interest for Gladstone and anticipate an early March start!
Our language program follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). You will find a more comprehensive description of Common Reference levels (A1 to C2) here.
Beginners (A1): the "discovery" stage. At this stage, you can interact in simple ways: speak about yourself, give and ask for information. Note: New absolute Beginners students are encouraged to enrol for 2 Terms (6 months) to ensure they benefit from the full curriculum.
Intermediate (A2 to B1): you are able to cope with most situations you are likely to encounter when travelling to a French-speaking country.
Advanced (B1 to B2): you are able to hold a conversation, write simple texts and express yourself without searching for your words.

In 2026, we are pleased to expand our offerings with French lessons available in Mackay, providing greater learning opportunities for students across the region. Our Mackay‑based teacher, Cécile Couper, originally from the North of France, brings nearly 20 years of experience teaching French as a foreign language in both online and face‑to‑face settings.
At this stage, lessons will be held Thursday mornings at CQU Mackay; we are finalising details to bring you a commencement date as soon as possible!
Cécile will also offer online lessons when we are unable to run a particular level in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, or Gladstone due to teacher availability or small class sizes, ensuring continued flexibility and access for all learners.
Complete the Expression of Interest below if interested!
