2025 Committee Members and Teachers
Karen Clifford
President
Karen joined our committee late 2021 and is also a student in the advanced group. She contributes with music and songs (in French of course) to many of our events.
Dolores La Spina
Treasurer
Dolores joined our committee at the end of 2022. She is the Chair of the Finance Sub-Committee as well as Treasurer. Dolores also contributes to event promotion thanks to her artistic, photographic and graphic design skills.
François Gallais
Assistant Treasurer
François is our past President, a position he filled for 3 years. He remains a committee member and is a member of the Finance sub-committee. His areas of expertise are marketing and fundraising.
Dr. Maree Burke
Member of the Finance Sub-Committee
Maree was our treasurer for a number of years, and she brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She is very active in organising our events and making sure we are compliant with rules and regulations.
Deb Burn
Secretary
Deb was re-elected Secretary in 2024. She brings a wealth of experience in Communication and Cultural Promotion. Deb is also a student in the advanced group.
Diane Gallais
Teacher and Language Training Administrator
Diane is French and has been teaching at Alliance Française since her arrival in the region. She has worked as a teacher in France and in the UK and currently teaches the intermediate group.
Megan Hudson
Teacher
Megan studied French at University and has taught the beginner level at Alliance Française for a number of years. Megan is also our tech expert.
Pascale Levacher
Teacher and website/social media coordinator
Pascale is French and teaches at St Ursula’s College in Yeppoon. She has taught with us since the very beginning, in 2001. She takes the advanced class at Alliance Française. Pascale looks after our social media accounts and website.
Margaret O’Connor
Committee Member
Margaret joined our committee at the end of 2022. She brings to the committee her experience as a small business owner and long standing resident of Rockhampton.
Jenny Lynch
Committee Member
Jenny joined our committee at the end of 2024. She has been studying French with us for a few years and has travelled to France numerous times.
Richard Mills
Committee Member
Richard joined our committee at the 2023 AGM. Richard has volunteered to assume the function of informal sommelier at our events in 2024. He is a student in the advanced French class.
