Join us for “Vive la France!” in Yeppoon!

As part of Queensland Seniors Month, we invite everyone to enjoy an afternoon and evening of French themed activities!

When:
Thursday 20 October 2022, from 3pm until 9pm.

Where:
Yeppoon old railway station (James Street) then Town Hall (25 Normanby Street)

Program

3pm to 4pm - discover the game of “petanque”. Join in at the Yeppoon’s old railway station on James Street. No skills, fitness, equipment, prior knowledge required - just turn up to have some fun. We will provide the “boules” and explain how to play.

4pm to 6.30pm - we will relocate to Yeppoon Town Hall (5 minutes walk) to enjoy a fun quiz about France, sing some French songs, and a light dinner made of French inspired food. You are welcome to BYO as there will be no alcohol.

6.30pm to 9pm - in partnership with our friends Keppel Coast Flix, enjoy the French film “The Young Lovers” (M) - Elegant, retired architect Shauna crosses paths with Pierre, a married oncologist in his 40s, who first made an impression on her in a brief meeting over a decade earlier. Both are drawn to each other, and begin a passionate affair. While Pierre’s family life is soon turned upside down - his wife incredulous at the age difference - Shauna struggles with feelings she thought well-belonged to the past, and the promise of what may remain…

I am not Senior - can I still attend? Of course! Queensland Seniors Month is all about bringing people of all ages, cultures, and abilities together.

Is it possible to only attend part of the day? Yes! You can book (below) tickets either for the full day or only the evening film.

Will parking be available? Parking is available both at Yeppoon old railways station and Town Hall.

What is Seniors Month? Seniors Month will be celebrated across QLD from 1- 31 October, with the theme of Social Connections, which will encourage Queenslanders of all generations to connect and celebrate the contribution of seniors to the state. Find out more.
